Balloon flight over the great Alqueva lake.

Spanning 250 km2, the Alqueva dam gave birth to a new Alentejo. Where a river once flowed deep in the valleys, there is now a lake with islands of cork oaks and holm oaks, and a new lease of life for the villages and centuries-old castles that have abandoned their defensive function and now serve as lookout points. Join us and discover this landscape aboard a hot air balloon.

Meeting Point Time*

Summer: between 5:30 and 7:00

Winter: between 6:30 and 9:00 or between 15:00 and 16:00

Restrictions:

  • All flights are dependent on weather conditions.
  • Children under 6 years old should not fly
  • Participants must have the physical capacity to climb in and out of the basket, stand for 1 hour, and withstand the impact that a windy landing can cause.
  • People who have recently had surgery should not fly.
  • People with medical restrictions must inform them at the time of booking.

What to wear:

  • Comfortable clothing suitable for the season and weather of the day.

  • Comfortable, closed, flat footwear

  • Cap, beanie or other head protection recommended.

  • Sunglasses and sunscreen recommended

Program

  • Meeting point.

  • Welcome and safety briefing

  • Balloon inflation

  • Flight duration approximately 60 minutes. Landing depends on available terrain and the location of the support vehicle.

  • At the end, the balloon and other equipment are set up, a task in which participants can help if they wish, or watch and complete the report with a few more photos.

  • Flight celebration with champagne/sparkling wine. Delivery of personalized flight certificates

  • Return to the starting point in the support vehicle
